Another Amnesty Attempt
President Obama made an "important" speech (ever notice how all his speeches are important?) on immigration on May 10th. He made the usual talking points about how immigration reform is needed to fix our "broken immigration system." That is the standard mantra for the open borders crowd such as La Raza and illegal alien advocates such as Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois. He also echoed what Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano has stated; the border with Mexico is now secured. Big Sis might want to check with the dead Border Patrol agents the past 12 months on that one. President Obama might want to check with them also. But, I suspect he has better things to do, like seeking the destruction of Israel, for instance.
Once again, Obama is going to try and ram the Dream Nightmare Amnesty Act down the throats of the American people. We have anywhere from 15 to 20 million unemployed in this country. Those that are 45 and over have basically no hope of ever finding a meaningful job again. So, what is the President's plan to help all these unemployed Americans who have paid taxes all their working life to feed the illegal aliens in this country? He is going to put another 2-3 million young illegal children into the work pool. Somehow, he says this will help the economy. He says it will put more revenue into the economy. Unless he has a secret plan to employ all these illegal aliens upon passage of the Dream Act (which should never happen in a Republican dominated House), then that is not going to happen, ladies and gentlemen. It is a bald-face lie. President Obama, along with the majority of Democrats, feel that with the "...border now secure, it is time to pass an amnesty to help his reelection chances." Well, no, he didn't exactly put it that way. But, that was the underlying tone of his speech. Without the Hispanic vote, he is toast and he knows it. He has basically written off the blue collar white vote he got in 2008. That puts him on a very thin edge of winning or losing.
But, back to the topic...the Mexican border is far from secure. There are beheadings, people bathed in acid vats, people killed in their own homes for no other reason than just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Mexican border violence is spreading to the North American States of Mexico also. Just two years ago, five illegal aliens were found in a small town in central Alabama who were hog-tied and had their throats slit from ear to ear. The Mexican Drug War is not coming to a theater near you. It is coming to your neighborhood. It is an outright travesty and possibly an impeachable offense for the President to openly state our southern border is secure. He knows damn well it is not secure. I have heard and read in comments that gunfire did erupt during President Obama's speech on immigration in El Paso. Unfortunately, if MSNBC, CBS, CNN or even Fox News doesn't report it, that means it didn't happen. That is what we are being led to believe.
Maybe we should just forget the Mexican Border violence and concentrate on political violence inside this country,. What I am talking about? Oh, how about gunfire that sprayed the front of the Republican Headquarters in Washington D.C.? Yeah, click this link. I anticipate Attorney General Eric Holder to launch an immediate investigation to get to the bottom of it. Oh wait...."violence against conservatives" is considered non sequitur. Republicans...the Tea Party welcomes you to "our world".

Yes I believe that is what I said in with the other, but as I said he will do whatever it takes and it seems no one either can or wants to stop him? Why are the republicans not all over all they could get on him? He should be impeached but the beast will win again, he has no worry. Why do none of the Democrats who love him look at the billion given to Mexico for the drug war,( I have my own ideas on that and that is exactly why it is not patrolled) it's their people, and the 600 million Obama got for border patrol, only an idiot would not know he is protecting no borders except the ones coming in and where is this money going. If you haven't read that hub I mentioned you should, the guy that commented just before me had some really interesting things to say (he is military or ex military I think he said with information you may not have known).
Polly, what some Hispanics want is that they want it both ways. They want the benefits of being an American. However, they are not willing to embrace the culture. They want to keep their culture and to hell with American culture. Many feel we should be a bi-lingual nation. How soon would it be before they start whining that Spanish should be the dominant language. Obama is using the Hispanics. They either don't know it or don't care. I assure you, Obama doesn't care about Hispanics until it is time to vote. They will vote for him anyway.
I just said about all I can say at "Is Barrack Obama a Liar" used a little of the information I heard from you, hope I didn't misquote. I had a Mexican woman come to one of my hubs once and tell me how prejudice I was and that she was an American citizen...blah blah...and I said, "Then I am not talking about you, am I?" If you are an American you care about America and your children and grandchildren you will have to watch murdered or starved to death and that is just where we are headed. Let the Mexican criminal kill us all, are they going to hand America over to American Mexicans? Everyone knows better, they kill their own in a second.
Anyway she didn't come back. Maybe it was food for thought.

I think there is little doubt the enormous financial strain illegals are having upon this nation. Not only are they hurting us in the pocketbook, but they work for wages where employers will basically take advantage of them to make a large profit. They are being used. The problem is they do not care. Illegals have no concept of their disruptive influence on this nation. Either they don't know or don't care. It may be a combination of the two. The drug violence is spreading out the U.S. also. It was less than two years ago 5 illegals (the paper quoted them as Mexican Nationals...so, make of that as you will) were hog-tied and had their throats slit in their apartment in a small central Alabama town. No suspects were ever interviewed.
Of course, by the time you read this, you will already know the great news handed down by the U.S.Supreme Court today whereby states can mandate that employers use e-verify or risk having their business license revoked. This is a great victory for Americans who are unemployed. Now, if both the House and Senate take action (and it appears more and more likely Democrats and Republicans will agree) to legislate e-verify, the magnet of jobs will be taken away. They say that you can't deport 12-20 million people. I find that laughable. But, my position has always been you don't have to involuntarily deport illegals. Take away the jobs magnet, the social programs and they will self-deport. Their situations are sad. But, we simply can't take care of them. Hell, we can't even take care of our own indigent people.
While the majority of the violence is closer to the border, I know that here in Houston the biggest problem is that the illegals are draining our finances. We are paying not only for their schooling, free lunches and health care, but also for their auto insurance 'by proxy' since we have to be covered when they hit us without insurance. We pay by needing more law enforcement officers to control the crime rate which they contribute to, especially when it comes to gang violence. We pay by spending millions on dual language everything, from classrooms to government documents to road signs. This problem has gotten so bad that I'm worried the politics will keep it from ever being resolved. As long as the 'Hispanic vote' is important in elections I'm afraid we're stuck with it. Not the America I grew up in, what a shame.
Honestly, I do see border patrol and ICE here, but not enough of them. I remember bar tending and an ICE agent gave me his card. I think he was trying to recruit me. I, of course already had a job and so showed no interest. The problem is that there are not enough of them. Mexico has a huge border with us. I jokingly say to my Mexican relatives, my wife is has a Mexican heritage, America should just push south and make them part of the country. They all want to come here, so lets just bring us to them. Push down to the panama canal so we would have a small border line. To my surprise, most them are not opposed to that. In defense of why the USA can't do it, is as I mentioned the vast border and the fact that we are not trying to sneak into their country. If we were, they wouldn't be able to stop us either.

Do you ever see the Border Patrol or ICE in your area? I ask because it seems they have been cut off at their knees in trying to enforce the rule of law. There are laws on the books right now about illegal immigration that Obama and other presidents tend to ignore. We don't need "comprehensive immigration reform." We already have that on the books! Our immigration system is not broken. It is just simply not being enforced. All the open borders crowd like to ignore this inconvenient truth about illegal immigration. Mexico sure as hell enforces their laws about illegal immigration. Why can't the USA do likewise?
The atrocities being committed on both sides of the border are too much to bear(in lives and social decay). How long will it take for American and Mexican governments to come to some type of agreement to address this issue? The communities on both sides are waiting for a solution.
Wil C, you are right on the front lines of this invasion. I am sorry that you live so close to the battle lines because that is exactly what they are. Our president fiddles while our southern border burns. All we need os to rotate the National Guardsmen of all 48 continental states on the border states. That would cure the illegal immigration problem. Thanks for following, I followed bacy.
Writer David, I totally agree with you. I live in Brownsville, TX and I know as you do, that our borders are most certainly not secure. The truth is, we would help the Mexican government if they wanted us to. Their government is corrupt from top to bottom. If they have any chance for freedom it will start at the citizen level. But I do believe we should be enlisting more soldiers and bringing home a majority of our over-seas guys and gals to ensure our borders.
SaMcnutt, I realize that the ordinary Mexican citizen is not at fault. The problem is that we can't be the world policeman any longer. It simply has to stop. The Mexicans, at some point in time, have got to stop depending on big brother to constantly help them out. They are going to have to stop the drug war themselves. We play a large part of the fault because if there wasn't such a big demand in the USA, there would be much of a supply. So we have our cross to bear also. You hit the nail on the head in your last two sentences. Excellent! And so very true.
The problem is it is worse for Mexican citizen's. They are caught in the middle of everything. Even fleeing to our country cannot help them. If things are going to change then they have to start in their own back yard.
They cannot be patriotic to Mexico and live in this country. They have to preserve their own country from within, which means they need to fight the drug lords. If their country is corrupt, what are they going to do about it.
We cannot solve everyone's problems. We cannot even solve our own.

Polly, you have to remember one line from an Obama speech; "We are going to fundamentally change the United States of America." He really meant that. But, the people that heard him say it that day had no idea what he meant. He is going to fundamentally change the USA to a 2nd or 3rd rate country. Only then can the Obama socialists rebuild it in the image of what they perceive America should be; a Socialist statist nation. If he is reelected, he will achieve this goal.
