President Obama. Hope and Change. Change and Hope. We have moved into uncharted territory. We are now at $14 trillion in debt. We have President Obama and his cohorts extolling the "accomplishments" of his two years in office. We see "Health Care Reform." We see Finance Reform whereby the federal government can and will liquidate failing financial companies...at their discretion. A primary campaign issue that President Obama championed, the closing of Guantanamo within a year, is now a closed issue with the abandonment of that promise earlier this week. You see...Democratic Presidential Nominee Obama made promises his...presidential derriere couldn't keep. Military tribunals...will continue under President Obama. Left is Right. Right is Left. In Obama World, everything is upside down. What was true yesterday is no longer true today. In Obama World, the space program is no longer operating on bubble gum and bailing wire. It is now operating on a memory, a memory that this country first put man on the moon. It is a memory that filled Americans with pride as a nation. We can now watch the Japanese, Russia, and France put men on the moon...and claim it as their own. Now, we are abandoning that noble effort in Obama World in order to "save money." We're basically broke. Yet, and yet, President Obama can find $53 billion for "high-speed rail." Amtrak anyone?
Nobody is interested in learnin'
But the teacher
Segregation, determination, demonstration,
Integration, aggravation,
Humiliation, obligation to our nation
The United States is broke. Michael Moore, the fat blob of confusion, says we have all kinds of money...and goes on a hunger strike. People are scratching, clawing, and fighting to make a living. To feed a family today is a struggle. Teacher unions have lost their way. They are all about "Hey, me first, your kids if we get time." You want to know why Johnny can't read? You really want to know? It's not so much the teachers at fault. Most are good, dedicated professionals. The unions have betrayed the teachers. The unions would rather demonstrate, threaten, bully and attack those who would take money from their coffers. The reason Johnny can't read is a lack of a cohesive plan in the schools...and the unions will blame the school administration for this. Teachers are not teaching today. They are demonstrating....and sleeping overnight at the state capitol building, holding hands and singing, "Kumbaya My Lord." The old "Three R's" have now been replaced by "Radical, Rage, and Revolution." And we wonder why our kids lag behind so many advanced countries such as Japan?
So round 'n' round 'n' round we go
Where the world's headed, nobody knows
In the Middle East, explosive would not be the operative word here. In the Middle East, changes are happening so fast and furious, words fail to adequately describe the daily events. Tunisia, Egypt, both have seen sudden and violent swings in the political shape of their respective governments. Demonstrations are getting a start in Saudi Arabia. They are taking place in Libya. That chapter in world history is not yet finished. An area of the world so radicalized, sudden swift change was unthinkable...until this year. An area of the world that the news media is suddenly embracing - in a dramatic turn of events - DEMOCRACY. I feel my head spinning. As usual, the news media, and by extension, the Progressives, have got it all wrong as usual. This still is and always will be a bastion of Islam. Sharia Law is advocated and demanded here. Sharia Law and Democracy are not compatible. But, do me a favor. Don't try to convince any of your Progressive friends of that mode of thinking. Let them live in their foolish delusions in Obama World. President Obama and his Lemmings are thoroughly convinced this is just DEMOCRACY breaking out all over the Middle East. Glenn Beck is castigated for saying this is not Democracy, but a Caliphate. The Middle East is, truly, a ball of confusion.
Fear in the air, tension everywhere
Unemployment rising fast,
The latest unemployment figures were said to be 8.9%. Lets repeat that...the latest unemployment figures were said to be 8.9% Would you say that is something to be celebrated? I would have to give a big...NO on that one. People have stopped looking for jobs with a livable income. If there are jobs out there they seem to fall into just two ranges; highly skilled and highly unskilled. Sure, there are always going to be jobs for doctors and lawyers. There are always going to be jobs for sales clerks and order clerks at McDonalds. But, that's about it. And, yet, we are coming out of the recession. Good times are a head for America. That's what the New York Times, the Boston Globe, Time Magazine all are telling us. Get ready for the good life, America! Your hard earned government dollars are at work!!! Break out the banjo, Happy Days are here again! Meanwhile, for the week ending March 5th, initial jobs claims were 397K, an increase of 26K. Hey, happy days for those 397K, right?
People all over the world, are shoutin'
End the war
It seems we won't be leaving Afghanistan...any time soon. Secretary of Defense is calling for an ongoing effort by "coalition forces." Security gains could be threatened, says the Sec. of Def. The war is winding down, we are told. Troops want to come home. Families want the troops to come home. Even the Taliban wants the troops to go home. War...what is it good...for. Absolutely...nuthin'. Say it again....
Birds falling from the sky dead. Fish washing ashore. Dead cattle in Vietnam. The world awash in red ink. Politicians lying about service in war...and getting elected anyway. Biblical floods in Australia. The moon will be at its closest to earth in two decades. Middle East exploding on an unprecedented scale. Israel surrounded by enemies in strange times. A mad-man kills six in Arizona and injured 14, including a U.S. Congress Rep. A nine-year old schoolgirl is among the dead...and left-wingers immediately blame a Tea Party. The Geezer Bandit, a man thought to be in his mid-seventies, is terrorizing banks in southern California. John P. Wheeler III (look it up). Alien life found in meteorites. Earthquakes in Arkansas. An earthquake in Japan....
Out is in. In is out. Black is white, White is black. Up is down. Down is up. Right is wrong. Wrong...is right.
...and the band played on.

Writer:
You keep drinking that tea.
I should have 'USA Inc.' my thoughts on where the Tea Party, their handlers, and their mouthpieces are leading the US, with you, Sherri, evory, etc's help later today.
TPC, Norm Chomskey. You lost all with respect when you quote writings by that guy. Are you even real, or are you trying to jerk us around. Norm Chomskey? That is so laughable. Norm???????
Keep on hubbing!
I can't see how the left can believe half the stuff they are spueing out. And they are supposed to be the better educated, they claim, but when you look at the demographics, you see that they are generally the less educated ones, who dropped out of high school, and rely on the government for their living.
So I guess they will believe anything their Gods, the union leaders tell them.
Keep on hubbing!
Sheri:
No that's what we were under "The Chimp"--AKA "Dear Leader Bush".
A lot of what's happening in the Middle East is blowback from 'St. Ronnie'.
But I don't expect Beck and Limbaugh to tell you that; you'd need to read books like 'House Of Bush--House Of Saud', by Craig Unger, 'Blowback', by Chalmers Johnson, or Noam Chomsky's 'Hegomony or Survival' to understand.
It just sickens me to think about what a laughing stock we and our nation are in the world now. The middle east is exploding because they KNOW America has no leader, and we will do nothing!!!
Writer:
You must have missed my Hubs "Wisconsin Wakes Up" and "(Re)Organized Labor".
Or else you can't turn Beck, etc off long enough to see that many people are seeing that the goal of the "TEA Party" is "USA Inc".
(I'll be hubbing on that over the weekend, as a lot of the "Tea Twits", as progressive, populist radio host Rick Smith, [google 'The Rick Smith Show']like to call them, seem to be a bit confused about my stance on Corps).
Polly:
Talk about "USA Inc". . .
Did you hear Donald Trump say he may run for President? He thinks like I do that neither side know what they are doing. I never liked him but he is starting to talk my language.
Polly:
That's what they (as in corps) want to happen! What happened in Wisconsin and going forward is exactly what those in power don't want to see.
Writer David:
I'm not surprised that you'd have wanted the Economy to collapse, might be the only way to put the 'Strongman' that so many on the right want.
(That could be a whole hub of it's own).
Of course, you can't see that Koch, etc won't be satisified until the US is a nation of by and for the corporations and their CEO's.
I give up, there is just no fight left in me, when they all wake up it will be in hell.
As the corps contine to expand their power, you folks drink the Tea that they hand you and follow thier pied pipers; Beck, Limbaugh, etc down to road to "USA Inc."
But perhaps what happened in Wisconsin, as I hubbed about in 'Wisconsin Wakes Up', may get a few to realize--but that is a topic for another hub.
I guess what is happening is the perfect metaphor for the Titanic.. Voted up and awesome.
You are right on with this hub.
Democracy in the mideast...can't happen. There is a reason we supported the dictators in this region. They were the only ones able to keep the countries under control.
Keep on hubbing!

Hello David,
This is an awesome hub.
And there is somewhat of a coincidence here. I just published a hub entitled, "A Ball Of Confusion Called The U.S.A." and this post appears on the page as a related hub. Before seeing that, I was unaware of this hub.
And I am very impressed with your knowledge of the lyrics of that old Temptations song.
