Attack of the Progressives
So, this country has come down to this? The so-called "Progressives" intend to infiltrate Tax Day Tea Parties, scream out racial slurs, make other bigoted remarks to marginalize this grassroots American movement. How about honest debate with the Tea Party movement, "Progressives?" How about just attacking their positions on taxes, spending, constitutional rights, illegal immigration and cap and trade? Progressives don't want to do this because their positions are untenable. Americans are sick of the unprecedented spending spree of the Democratic Party. Americans thought they had sent the message in New Jersey and Virginia. Americans thought that messaged was reinforced in Massachusetts...yes, MASSACHUSETTS. But, apparently, the left-wing ideologues didn't get the message. So, they shoved Obamacare down the throats of the American people. And, from all recent polls, the Democrats are going to pay a stiff price.
That simply isn't going to stand, according to Jason Levin. So, in an effort to disrupt and destroy this movement, he is going to infiltrate with anti-Tea Party members. That is, provided he can find enough people stupid enough to carry through with this endeavor. He has "promised" that his "infiltrators" will not use racial epithets in an effort to hurt the Tea Party movement. I simply don't believe him. Democrats and their left-wing zealot allies are in severe panic mode right now. They realize Americans have seen the Democratic Party for what they are and Americans are not happy. The Progressives simply won't go gently into that good night. I suspect after this new tactic fails (and it will...there is too much publicity around it to succeed), there will be only one tactic left; violence. That will be next on the agenda. Of course, the Tea Party movement will be blamed for starting it with collaboration of the MSM. They failed in their attempt to prove racial slurs were used when Emanuel Cleaver and John Lewis walked through the Tea Party protesters on Black Sunday when Obamacare was passed. So, they have to invent racial slurs. This is at the very crux of the Crash the Tea Party tactics.
Whatever happened to honest discourse in this country? Whatever happened to the day when men and women of good will would sit down and discuss what was best for this country, not what was best for their own political agendas? Are we this divided to where we are reduced to trying to make a mockery of a movement that has their own grievances with the government? If this was the KKK or some other racist organization, you would see an outpouring of protest by Americans. And you would see many of these same Tea Party protesters joining in to protest against such an organization. If this movement was as bigoted and racially motivated as the progressives and MSM claim, where is the outpouring of counter-protesters? Both sides of the political realm are blinded by their own ideology. Both. But, regardless of what you think of the Tea Party protests, are you ready to go down the road to stifle their constitutional rights with underhanded tactics? You can hold on to your beliefs. But, surely, you must be alarmed at what "Crash the Tea Party" planners are up to right now. If the reverse were happening to the "Coffee Party," I would feel the same way. Unfortunately, there are less people attending Coffee Parties than attending the local PTA.
I am not 100% in the corner of the Tea Party movement. I still have some questions about them. But, they must be doing something right. As an independent, I feel myself more and more in their corner. I leave you Tea Party members with this...
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. -Gandhi

Love the quote.
Good hub!
As always well written and informative, excellent points. welcome to hubpages. Up here in Caanda we have five parties... so the divisions are a bit harder to find... still This is enlightening in terms of teh politics in teh US.
PS, I hope I've answered your question oyu've asked... you can find it on the hub you wrote a comment to. If you need anymore help ask away.
I believe most of the Tea Party people are common sense people. Moderates, as I am. Not invested in either party. And that's the only hope we have, is to elect people like us, who are not seeking the glory of power but the glory of setting this country back on the right road.
David,
I do realize that a one-party system is not the best answer either. It just seems like most dems have no respect for our constitution and their oath to uphold it. I have lived here in WV for most of my life, and this state is now and has always been almost 100 percent democrat controlled. If you check out the economics of my state, you see no business , too many frivolous lawsuits, and an economy and way of life in complete decline. However, I do understand that we truly do NEED a two party system with a working framework of checks and balances.
Very informative and thoughtful work here. I am sorry, but I truly am a partisan hack--on the repub side. My husband says I am the Pelosi of the right. I fear that what you have predicted here will come to pass. The dems are losing and losing BADLY to the information, truth, and common sense the tea party movement is trying to disseminate. November cannot arrive quickly enough for me. However, with each passing day it looks like Nov may be too far away to pull this nation back from the edge of a very high cliff!
