TSA Procedures: Invasion of Privates?

As everyone is fully aware, there is a growing protest against the full body scans and "pat down" of private parts of the public at our nation's airports. I'm torn on this issue. I can see it from the viewpoint that we have to be sure explosives are not getting aboard our airlines. It is particularly tough on the TSA people who have to do the pat downs. I can't imagine the grief these people are facing every single day. But, a much larger issue here is invasion of privacy or privates in this case. There are complaints of men and women being groped by TSA personnel. Lawsuits are being filed as Big Sis aka Janet Napolitano (although changes could be forthcoming....click on Janet Napolitano) insist that this is all about national security. That may well be so. I'm not convinced of this however. How can you pat down a eight or nine-year old boy as was the case in this video. This child was groped and touched by a grown man. There has to be another way to insure children aren't carrying explosives on board (ridiculous as that sounds).

Now, this is simply my opinion, but a primary reason, for these increased security procedures, is due to the federal government not wanting to be accused of profiling . We all know what the real threat is to this nation. It is Muslims just as Bill O'Reilly implied on "The View" a few weeks back. I refuse to acknowledge "Moderate Muslims " until they come out of the closet en masse and acknowledge the extremist element of their so-called "religion of peace ." I realize how that offends Muslims, Progressives and anyone else of the perpetually offended Left, just as it did the hypocrites on The View. I don't care. It is was not Hindus who flew jet airliners into skyscrapers of this country. It was not Buddhists who flew a jet airliner into the Pentagon. It was not Christians who carried out the terrorist attacks of Bali. It was Muslims. If that bothers you, go whine to HubPages. Again, I don't care. Prove me wrong as to who carries out terrorist attacks in this world of 2010.

Back to the main subject of this hub...I feel like these new procedures by the TSA are here to stay. Unless there is a successful legal challenge, I don't see these new procedures of groping and touching the privates of the public is going away any time soon. There is going to be a great deal of disruption of Thanksgiving Day travel this week if a loosely planned nation-wide protest actually takes place. If the protest happens, it will force TSA to pat down many, many more people. That would be unfortunate. But, I think it clearly illustrates the exasperation the flying public is having with these new procedures of the TSA. It appears the Obama Administration can't get enough of controlling every facet of American life. It wasn't enough to takeover car manufacturers and banks or even our healthcare. Now, they want to prove they can do anything they want, privacy laws be damned.
