Who Are The Real Hate Mongers?
69Does this go for Leftist Hate Speech as well?
"Civility" Mr. President?
Well, that "civility " thing didn't last long, did it? President Obama had not quite finished his speech in Tucson, pleading for civility in American politics, when the "Fanatical Left" practically told the President of the United States to kiss their collective (as in socialist collective) ass. I was willing to give the President the benefit of a doubt. I want to believe he was sincere in his desire for civility in politics, although he is part of the problem. "They bring a knife, we bring a gun " certainly tears down Obama as being the new spokesman for civility in politics. Still, I am willing to give the man a chance to prove himself. President Obama has castigated Republicans for two years. Now, after the "shellacking " in November and the Tucson tragedy, he is preaching civility. I want to believe he is not going to try to make political points on this tragedy. But, to paraphrase his former Chief of Staff, I believe the President and the Fanatical Left will never let a good mass killing go to waste. That is a terrible thing to say. I hope the President proves me wrong. The Fanatical Left has already proven me right.
Sarah Palin. What is it about this woman that causes the Left to have orgasmic seizures every time she speaks? The Fanatical Left tried to blame the Tucson shooting on her and the Tea Party. That didn't work out too well since a CBS poll showed clearly 58% did not agree with this absurd assertion by the leftists. None of that matters. But, that leaves the Left undeterred. Richard Cohen, of the Washington Post, asked someone in an interview, "How much time do we have left to talk about how stupid Sarah Palin is?" I guess Mr. Cohen didn't get the memo from President Obama on civility. Speaking of hate mongers, I am curious what Bill Maher thought of the President's speech in Tucson. Did he think, "Well, that doesn't apply to me since I'm a comedian." Well, it does apply to you Bill. If you were actually funny sometimes, you would be a pretty good comedian. But, those instances are few and far between. Instead, Bill Maher likes to practice something he really is good at; spewing his own brand of left-wing hate. Bill Maher stated on his "Real Time" hate fest about "teabaggers" that "...the Founding Fathers would have hated your guts. " His excuse for that is his belief the Founding Fathers were all secular humanists, which is an outright lie. But, never let facts get in the way of a hateful rant, right Mr. Maher?
The hate has continued on this past weekend when Tucson shooting victim, J. Eric Fuller, yelled at Tea Party President Trent Humphries, "Your'e dead! " Two things came to my mind as soon as I learned of this incident. One, what would have been the outcry if the roles had been reversed? What would have happened if it was the Tea Party President or any Tea Partyer that yelled, "You're dead !" There would have been a demand by Democrats for an investigation into every Tea Party organization in Tucson and the surrounding states, most likely. The MSM would have beeing wailing in agony and dramatic video of "ordinary citizens " living in fear that their next door neighbor might be (gasp!) Tea Party members!!!! Fear would have swept across the nation like grass fire. Demands would be made by MSNBC that the 35 National Guardsmen, on the "secured border " with Mexico, be redeployed elsewhere to save our country!!! Secondly, the man that said this to Mr. Humphries obviously had PTSD from the Tucson shooting. But, just how much of a factor were the hate mongers from MSNBC, CBS, ABC, The Huffington Post and the whacked out whackos at the Daily Kos? They started spewing hate as soon as the Tucson shooting hit the airwaves. You see, if you are going to accuse others of inflaming hatred with hate speech, you have to police yourself as well. That's the way it's done in the adult world.
Finally, I couldn't let this piece from those guardians of free speech at NPR (I think I just heard Juan Williams laugh over at FOX) go by without comment. Daisy Hernandez, a staunch proponent of open borders with Mexico, had to put her little nose into the hate fest. The Tucson shooting had absolutely nothing to do with illegal immigration. Yet, here she is stating, "It's safe to say there was a collective sigh of brown relief when the Tucson killer turned out to be a gringo. Had the shooter been Latino, media pundits wouldn't be discussing the impact of nasty politics on a young man this week — they'd be demanding an even more stringent anti-immigrant policy. " There is so much wrong with this statement, I scarcely know where to begin. For starters, lets just go with "gringo." According to the World English Dictionary, gringo means: a person from an english speaking country; used as a derogatory term by Latin America. Now, Juan Williams, the liberal correspondent with Fox News, was fired from NPR just by stating he was nervous any time he got on an airliner and saw someone with Muslim garb (or words to that effect). I doubt there is not one person, who gets on a jet airliner today, who isn't nervous when he can see someone that he perceives as Muslim. There is a good reason for that, of course. Yet, little Miss Hernandez can not only inject her socialist agenda (open borders) onto a national tragedy, she can also inject a derogatory term for white people as well. NPR is deathly quiet about it for some reason. What would have happened if an NPR reporter had stated, "I'm glad it wasn't a spic who did the killing. We'd have lynch mobs in the streets of Tucson. " That reporter would be comparing termination notes with former NPR correspondent Juan Williams over at Fox News. Double standard anyone? Juan? Juan, what say ye?
It is Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, the Tea Party and Talk radio that is being vilified by the Left as the hate mongers of this country. But, it is the Leftists who constantly fill the airwaves with their own unique brand of hate . The Left will tell you they are just practicing Freedom of Speech which is guaranteed under the Bill of Rights. What a pity the Glenn Becks, Sarah Palins of the world are not deemed fit to have this same right by these provocateurs of left-wing hate speech.

Hi David. I just penned a missive about this very subject and I am in total agreement with your words. Seems that, in the case of civil discourse, what is good for the goose doesn't apply to the gander.
Awesome piece of commentary.
Another beautiful example of hypocritical craziness of America. Hate has no sides, left, right, up, down, does it really matter who it is when it's everyone? I respect your opinion even though it's irrational and toxic to the better good. I just wish everyone could stop pointing fingers and and act like adults. But I guess that is not the American way.
Hate speech from either side is wrong. I think it doesn't get as much coverage when it comes from the left because it's not one of thier signature characteristics. The right is "Known" for harboring hateful tendancies towards specific groups of people. The left has teeth, but it doesn't fit into that whole "Bleeding Heart" "Tree Hugger" label that the media has placed on those that support left leaning policies. Here is what fascinates me completely. I don't see the reason for all of the paranoia over President Obama. He really hasn't done much of anything of note that harms the corporatized notion of government that currently exists...so what's the point?
Fascinating
I like your third party concept.
David , in my case you are speaking to the chior. The left will deny it but no one espouses more hate then they do.Look at the Huffington Post anytime and you will see hate. And Paul Krugamn and mainstream media showed their lack of credibility with the events that preceded the week after the Giffords shooting.
Well I can see that trying to elicit and adult conversation with you is impossible. Pogo? Is that the cartoon character or the Investigative Group? Anyway, I don't need to look at anyone or anything, Iam angry!
I did not malign your character or demean what you were saying. I just interjected some facts in your sumations.
Your response is typical of someone who wishes to keep this country divided..since Obama took office. Your need to rant about a line in a movie shows how delusional you are. It is your ilk that refuses to look at the positive actions that President Obama has taken to urge the country out of it's malaise.
You choose to read something sinister in every word he utters. You will go so far as to manufacture statements or apply incorrect meanings to his words.
You continue to use words like "fanatical", "leftist" and "lackeys"...and oh "push healthcare down peoples throats". You still like to use words that will keep the flame of hate and ignorance alive. It might amaze you to know that more and more people are approving of the healthcae bill, now that they know the truth. They like what they know will protect them, in light of what Jan Brewer is doing to the citizens of Arizona. The Republicans will have hell to pay if they repeal this bill..which they can't.
LOL the analogy about the Republicans driving the car into the ditch, now its the people who need to be in the front seat, the Republicans are welcome to ride along but they must sit in the back. Again, you have taken an innocent campaign statement and twisted it into something dire and dangerous.
Back room deals you say? Yes, these deals were with "big pharma" AMA, insluding Nurses..these deals were for the benefit of the american people.
Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld had deals, deals for take over of Afganistan's oil, deals for secret prisons that kept people locked up for life, oh soooo many deals. Pres. Bush in a speech told us not to think, he would do that for us. He also told us to wave the flag and go shopping. You know why he said go shopping? Because he knew before any of us that the economy was tanking.
No charges will be brought against Obama, he did nothing, but Bush??? The Republicans don't want to open that bag of worms.
What has President Obama Done? Did he get us in two unecessary wars, then proclaim "mission accomplished" while thens of thousands continued to die? Do you know how many soildes comit suicide, because they don't want to go to war?
Just what has President Obama done to this country?
I hate that you make me defend Obama. I think that he is a weak and timid President. He has let the Republicans rule him since he took office. Not one Republican respects him..and he still does not have a clue. How many Presedents would let the Majority Leader tell them what to do? Obama needs to grow some balls and kick some Republican ass.
Iam with you and the President, we need more civility in our approach to solving differences, lets start with the truth.
For instance on 6/14/08, then Senator Obama made that statement. He was referencing a line from that movie the Untouchables. "They pull a knife, you pull a gun"...or another way of saying, "don't bring a knife to a gun fight". The press was chiding Senator Obama for being to passive in the face of political attacks. People were saying that he was a "peacnki", they called him bland and effete. You remember, "no drams Obama". He was playing with the crowd. Everyone laughed and understood why he said it...Iam sorry you didn't. Anyway, he never made a statement like that once he became President.
It's sad that you believe the President castiganted the Republicans for two years. Lets look back at what the President did:
People wanted the President to bring charges
against President Bush...For war crimes.
Ignoring the constitution and running his
administration like a dictator.
Approving torture
Obama Refused. The ACLU demanded that the Pres release documents, pertaining to the secret prisons and secret meetings. Obama went to court to delay the release.
When the Republicans refused to sign the Stimulus(they had signed the first bailout from Bush)..President Obama made all the changes the Republicans demanded. He even broke a campaign promise and allowed lobbyist. He further went against his party and allowed "earmarks" like the Repulbicans demanded. 80% of the earmarks were by Republicans. He would not even announce this. His party was angry and he looked weak by allowing the Republicans to demand and get what they wanted...and they still did not sign the bill.
In Feb 2009, Rahm Emanual, the ex Chief of Staff once said, "you never want a serious crisis to go to waste". He explained himself, "an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before". Writer Dave, you've heard that old adage, "necessity is the mother of invention". You made it sould like Rahm had just made this statement, not only that, you intimated that the President and the "fanatical left" felt opportunity lies in mass murder!
As for Eric Fuller, he is a mentally unstable man who was shot in the knee during the Tuscon tragedy. He was attending a gun rally, he was yelling at a pro-gun speaker. He was later arrested.
Richard Cohen is wrong for what he said, but so were a few other people. A few people do not speak for millions of liberals..you should know this.
One week before Mrs Giffords was shot, she was on TV and remarked that the gun sites on the map was not right. Her husband later said that it made her nervous. I think thats why some idiots blamed Sarah Palin. But I would guess 98% did not. Sarah Palin does not want to cause anyone harm. I believe that Sarah is a babe in the woods. She does not realize the sharks she's swimming with.
I could go on rebutting what you said, but you sound very angry, Im not sure you are listening. You blame what you call the fanatical left...what I read from you was intentional lies. If we are to get along, we must stay with facts. Like Obama said, lets be civil to one another. Everything you wrote was filled with hate. You said that you think Obama is sincere, and you will give him a shot...what about you? Will you try to get rid of the hate? It's hard, I still have ill feelings. But I always say the truth shall set you free.
Our President is an amateur. Palin is battling instead of being the better person. As for Beck and the rest of them, They have staff writers who surf the net for great ideas and low and behold we get no credit for our words which are now their words.Politics is a game now. They are all in on it together, and we are the pawns.
David
Great job and unfortunately the Left takes any opportunity to sell their take on making the non Left look like the bad guys.
The real problem is that there is so much fighting by both sides to capture the votes of the people, nothing really gets done that would benefit the people.
While netiher left or right has really done good for the middle class, the damage done by the left is far more devastating than that from the right.
Congress has been ineffective for the people for the last hundred years, and it has become worse as we get into the last two decades.
It is interesting that the Left quickly throws a net aroond all conservatives in blaming incidents like the one in Tucson, but won't do the same when Muslims are involved in terrorism.
Group identification as the source of a problem is wrong in both of those cases, but the Left seems comfortable on attacking the Right and ignoring terrorists.
Finally, the media should be forced to go back to the fundamentals of New Reporting. If they want to opine then force them to state it as an Editorial. There are too many weak minded sheep in this country that take their opinions as Gospel.
Amen.
This may be the BEST hub you have EVER written!!!!! The only fault I find is your capitalization of the word "Left". They are such a nasty and hate-filled group they deserve ONLY lowercase letters, IMO! LOVE IT!!!
The left do not even understand the situation and what they are doing. They sound like a bunch of high school and college students who think they know everything.
Keep on hubbing!
Once again you are right on the money.
I don't say that lightly. There is a clear double standard on the left. Not just on free speech.
I'm disheartened by the fact that anyone could even be a democratic follower.
Creeping socialism has become raging socialism. All I see on MS-NBC is bulging bloodvains in the neck and temple area of it's pundits.
A very sick situation indeed. God help America, we can use a little right now.
Again, a well written article is hard to deny, you've provided another one here.
Well stated and an enjoyable read. Unfortunately, hate, like prejudice, lives in the mind and soul of the individual. It is learned behavior that probably can't be easily unlearned. We all use the word hate, as in "I hate taking out the trash," when what we really mean is "I dislike taking out the trash."
Unfortunately we are cursed with having those individuals who can only spew "hate" statements. If the subject at hand is not worthy of "hate", they usually have nothing to say. These individuals don't understand they have been consumed by hatred, and their lives are being wasted. Will they ever go away? I doubt it as long as humans roam this planet we will have to share it with the hate lovers among us.
You are right on the money. Thanks for telling it like it is.

Dave,
Raging homosexuals for "same-sex marriage". Raging feminists for "choice". Raging blacks for "Obama". Raging labor-union members for "free healthcare and pensions". Raging "anti-gun" activists. Raging "tree huggers". Raging Democrats for "heavily taxing the rich". A raging Obama who never delivers a speech in which he does not attack the Republcans.
As you so effectively express in this hub, it is the left that is tearing the country apart with its constant displays of anger, rage, hatred and intolerance.
